Mountains Of Cash Recovered In Ekurhuleni

Four people have been arrested after the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) uncovered large sums of money at two locations in Ekurhuleni in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Earlier, images surfaced on social media showing large sums of recovered money, reportedly amounting to R1.5 million, at a house in Tsakane.

EMPD spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago explained that the money was recovered by the department’s tracing unit in Langaville.

He said the money was recovered from a home owned by a couple who claim they are keeping it safe for an SBV guard.

SBV has denied that any of their guards were linked to the incident.
