The 5km fun walk/run was well supported by the Bedfordview community and race organisers Bedfordview Athletics will donate R25,000 to Better Bedfordview from the runners donations and the net proceeds from the 5km race. Better Bedfordview is a not-for-profit civil society organisation that is cleaning, tidying and improving the area, and creating employment. It is funded by caring and community-spirited residents and businesses. The race organisers were very grateful that they fixed potholes on the race route, painted road markings and keep our pavements clean and tidy.

‘Bedfordview Athletics would like to extend warm thanks to the sponsors, service providers, volunteers from our running club and community, schools and businesses,’ said Bedfordview Athletics.

The event received donations and prizes from BMW Bedfordview, Marine 8 Specialised Security, Bull Dog Car Wash, 32Gi, Switch, Anita Active Sports wear, Funky Pants, Afrihost, Redfern Labels, Milo, Shield, Reactive Wellness, Wagondrift lodge spa & game farm, Laundramax and tenants at the Bedford Shopping Centre: Fournos, Hashtag Scape, Sarugh Persian Carpets, Sorbet, The Daily Coffee Group, The Luggage Company and Vencasa.

Thanks to our water point sponsors Remax One at the first point, Harcourts Kempen, Better Bedfordview and RAG at the second one and to BMW and St Benedict’s College at the third water point. Thanks to BCPF for assisting with the marshalling.
