Better Bedfordview Clean-Up Team Receive New Kits

Residents Action Group’s (RAG’s) Better Bedfordview cleaners, who work hard in keeping the suburb tidy, now have bright new bibs and caps.

The Better Bedfordview initiative also has striking new banners in the area. Residents can have a look at these to see where the clean-up team is working. The initiative is made possible through the support of RAG members who pay a voluntary contribution of R30 a month and donations from individuals and businesses who share RAG’s vision of a safer, cleaner, greener and better Bedfordview for all.

RAG and Better Bedfordview are striving to unite and uplift the area. ‘But we cannot do it without you,’ stated RAG chairperson Marina Constas. ‘If you are not a member of RAG yet, please join now. Please share the RAG message with friends and neighbours. Encourage others to join RAG, or consider making a donation to the Better Bedfordview initiative. The more support we have, the more we can do, including more RAG reaction vehicles to keep our community safe, as well as more clean-up projects.’

As a non-profit organisation, all of RAG’s funds go back into the community. In addition to keeping the suburb safe and beautiful, donations also help RAG and Better Bedfordview to give back to those less fortunate. Better Bedfordview’s team of cleaners consists of four previously unemployed men. ‘With more funds, we can create more employment opportunities,’ Constas said.
