The spookiest day of the year, which takes place on 31 October, According to history.com – Halloween originated from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. We share the trending costumes for 2019 as well as Halloween events.

About the event: Dress up in character for Halloween and run or walk the time trial (4-8kms).
Venue: Peter Pan Park in Dunvegan.

Trick or Tweet-Brainy Birds Halloween Fundraiser (31 October 2019)
Venue: Brainy Birds Parrot Rescue – Edenvale.
Time: 7h00pm-8h00pm.
About the event: A nighttime Halloween Fundraiser event at Brainy Birds’ sanctuary to raise much-needed funds for their beautiful flock.

Third Annual East Rand Crafters Market Halloween Night Market 
About the event: Trick or Treat (come anytime but earlier is better); Spooky Treasure Hunt (starts at 6.30pm), fancy dress competition; scary movie – from 7-9pm; games evening – lots of games just like the good old days; photo booth – funky photo booth to take pics, Arts and Crafts Stalls; cupcake/cakes/baked goods competition (starts 5.30).
