Through various initiatives, the Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) Johannesburg strives to create a world where animals are treated with kindness and compassion. The organisation has announced the conclusion of its 2023 School Poster and Poetry Competition, with a Roland Stika SV-15 cutter that could be won.
The competition was centred around the theme, ‘Every day is a good day to be kind to animals’. This engaging initiative aimed to foster compassion and creativity among South African primary school learners, encouraging them to express their thoughts and feelings about the welfare of animals through art and poetry.
The competition, which ran from 1 June to 31 October 2023, witnessed enthusiastic participation from young minds across the country. The event not only provided a platform for individual recognition but also introduced a spirited inter-school element.
After careful tallying of the entries, Boskop Primary School in Randpark Ridge emerged victorious, securing the Roland Stika SV-15 cutter for their school. This state-of-the-art cutter, sponsored by Telpro, will undoubtedly enhance the school’s creative capabilities and contribute to the development of future artistic talents.
‘We are immensely proud of the young talent who participated in this competition. Their artistic expression and heartfelt art and poetry truly exemplify the spirit of kindness towards animals,’ said Johan Steenkamp, Education Officer for AACL Johannesburg.
‘Congratulations to Boskop Primary School for their outstanding contribution, and we extend our gratitude to Telpro for their generous sponsorship of the Roland Stika SV-15 cutter.’
