Boitumelo Mofokeng is launching the In Our Parents Name Foundation food gardens programme to teach members of the community about, and involve them in, participating in food production in the Kensington and Edenvale areas.

Mofokeng said, ‘The two-week training, which started on 25 January, is conducted at the Bertrams City Farm. Most of our members do not have garden tools so we ask the community to please support us with these tools, organic compost and seeds/seedlings. I will collect around Kensington and surrounds.’

The foundation is a registered entity to broaden and deepen the community service in different wards and surroundings. ‘We also please need board games for all age groups for our after-school and holiday programmes. There is already a group of enthusiastic chess buddies in one of our block of flats in Jeppestown. Please donate – we will collect,’ Mofokeng said.
