Edenvale Based Book Lover’s Corner Offers Pre-Loved Books Suited To Every Taste

Book Lover’s Corner offers a variety of secondhand books, including fiction and non-fiction, and they aim to be a place to find pre-loved books suited to every taste.

The business is online only. Those interested can browse their virtual book store and scroll through books, read the blurb and reserve the title they want. ‘It is just like browsing through a bookstore, but from the comfort and safety of your own home,’ said owner Sam Atrash.

Book Lover’s Corner was inspired by Atrash’s love of reading and wanting to share her passion with others. ‘With new books being so expensive and the libraries being closed during lockdown, I embarked on a project to clear out my own bookshelf. I enjoyed the interaction with others so much and met such incredible people, that it became a ‘stint on the side’ and has grown substantially,’ she said.

Books are donated by friends and family and are sourced from various charities in the Edenvale area. ‘Our books are way below the average price of new books and are carefully sought and captured with a great amount of passion. To keep our book prices as low as possible, we do not buy from the public, but we wish to thank everyone who has donated books over the last year.’

‘Every interaction with every customer is personal. Once you place your first order, you will never have to give us your details again – all you have to do is reserve your books and we will do the rest. Nationwide shipping is offered through Paxi, Pudo and PostNet and there are no hidden costs – we charge what they charge – there is no mark up on packaging and postage,’ added Atrash.

They offer free delivery to Edenvale and some surrounding areas. Books are wiped down before they are delivered and the team continually washes their hands to reduce any risk of Covid infection.

‘The last year has been an incredible rollercoaster, from being overstocked and in tears, to absolutely loving the adrenaline of putting enough books online while working a full-time job as a fundraising consultant. The best part was meeting the most incredible people from across the country. I’d like to thank my awesome family for being so supportive and allowing me to share my love of reading with others,’ added Atrash.
